Yasbïs Privacy Policy

Version: 15 April 2015

The responsible body (verantwortliche Stelle) for the web services of Yasbïs (‘services’) within the meaning of the Federal Law on data protection (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz, TMG) is Yasbïs, Isabel Underberg (‘we’), Inselstraße 12, 10179 Berlin, available via +49 (0) 30 5484 8803 and info@yasbis.com.

We are pleased that you are visiting our websites. The protection of your privacy when using our websites is important to us. Therefore we would like to inform you about how we handle your personal data when visiting our websites (§ 13 Abs. 1 TMG). This document is a non-binding convenience translation, for a binding version of our Privacy Policy please read the German version of this document available on our website.

Personal data

Personal data means information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person, which means all information by means of which you are identifiable. This includes, for instance, information like your first name and surname, your address and email address, your telephone number or your birthday. As a rule, you can visit our websites without us requiring or collecting any of your personal data.

We collect your personal data if you use personalized services on our websites, such as our newsletter, that require prior registration with your name and e-mail address. We also collect your personal data if you register for a customer account. This data include your first name and surname, city/country, e-mail address, telephone number, password.

If you contact us (for example via contact form or e-mail), your information will be saved in order to process the request and for the case that follow-up questions arise.

Access data

In addition, we (or our web space provider) collect protocol data for each access to our services (called server log files). These include: name of the website, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, product and version information of the browser (user agent) and the website from which you were linked to the page you requested (referrer).

We use the server log files anonymized and only for statistical analysis in order to operate, secure and optimize our services. By doing this, we can e.g. find out on which days and at what times the services of our websites are particularly popular and how much data volume is created on our websites. We also can detect possible errors, e.g. defect links or program errors and use this knowledge to improve our websites. We do not link the data stored in server log files with individuals. However, we reserve the right to examine server log files, if there is reasonable suspicion of unlawful use of our services due to concrete indications.

Newsletter

As part of our services we provide a free newsletter, which contains information about us and our services.

Before sending out newsletters, we generally use the so-called double opt-in method, so we will usually only send you a newsletter by e-mail if you have explicitly confirmed that we shall activate the newsletter service for you. We will then send you a notification e-mail and ask you to confirm that you wish to receive our newsletter by clicking on a link contained in the e-mail. If you have already purchased products on our website, we may not use the double opt-in method, but we will of course comply with any legal requirements.

If you would like to receive the newsletter, we require a valid e-mail address as well as information that allow us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address or that the owner agrees to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected. This data will only be used for sending out the newsletter and will not be transmitted to third parties.

By registering for the newsletter, we save your IP address and the registration date. This is only to have proof in the event that a third party uses an e-mail address and registers for the newsletter without the knowledge of the person entitled to the e-mail address.

You can revoke your permission to send you our newsletter at any time. You can revoke your permission by using a link in the newsletter itself or by sending a message to us using the contact details above.

IP addresses & cookies

When you visit our websites, your IP address (the identifier assigned to your PC by your Internet provider) and further information, such as the date, time and the websites you have visited may be saved on our server for technical reasons. Any evaluation of such data for statistical and/or market research purposes will only be carried out in an anonymized form or using pseudonyms. We will save your IP address only for security and monitoring purposes that are required by law.

When you visit our websites cookies are stored on the hard disk of your computer.  A cookie is a small file containing a string of characters and identifying your browser. Cookies help us to improve the comfort and quality of our service, for example by saving user settings.

You can use our services without cookies. You can disable the storing of cookies in your browser, limit it to specific websites or require a notification before a cookie is stored. The help function in most browsers’ menus explains to you how and to what extent you can block cookies. Furthermore, you can delete cookies stored on the hard disk of your computer in the data protection feature of your browser. However, please note that the features and usability of our services may be restricted in this case.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service by Google Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics also uses cookies.  The information generated by the cookie about your use of our websites is normally transmitted to one of Google’s servers in the USA and stored there. Since the IP address anonymization is activated on our website, your IP address will however firstly be truncated by Google within the Member States of the European Union or other States that are parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases the whole IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on our behalf for the purposes of evaluating your use of the websites, compiling reports on your website activity and providing us with other services relating to website usage and Internet usage.

The IP address transmitted from your browser for the purposes of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data from Google. You can prevent the storage of cookies as described above by selecting appropriate settings on your browser software. However, we would like to inform you that in some cases, you will then not be able to use all of the functions of our websites to the full extent. In addition, you can prevent the data related to your use of our websites which is generated by the cookie (including your IP-address) from being captured and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in which is available at the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

For more information about Google Analytics and about privacy when using Google Analytics, see https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Social plugins

We use a range of so-called social plugins on our websites. These are small extension modules from various social networks, which make it possible for you to inform other participants in the social network that you are visiting our websites. We would like to inform you that we only have limited influence over the data transmitted by these social plugins. Please note the following information on how these social plugins work:

When you visit our websites which contain such social plugins, your browser constructs a direct connection with the social network’s servers: in this way the social network is informed about which of our websites you are currently visiting and this information is stored there in accordance with the social network’s privacy policy. It may be that the social network also records your browsing history or further information. If you interact with the social plugin by clicking on it, and you are logged into the corresponding social network at the same time, in certain circumstances this can be added to your profile and be displayed at other places on the Internet. If you do not want the social network to collect data about you via our websites, it can be helpful if you log out of the social network prior to visiting our websites. Please take further information about purpose and scope of the data collection and the further use of your data by the respective social network as well as ways to protect your privacy from the corresponding privacy policies:

YouTube

YouTube uses cookies to collect information. By using these cookies, data about the computer or the user, who watches a video, can be stored. YouTube uses cookies inter alia, to gather reliable video statistics, prevent fraud and to improve the user experience. The advanced data protection mode is activated for embedded YouTube videos on our website (https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780?hl=de). This mode prevents that YouTube stores cookies for a user who views a site with an embedded YouTube video player with enhanced data protection, but does not click on the video to begin playback. YouTube may save cookies on the user's computer in certain cases after clicking on the YouTube video player, but no personal cookie information for playback of embedded videos using the advanced data protection mode will be stored.
